Brushtool
Open Photoshop 7.0. Don't be afraid to conduct some experiments with noise, size, etc. If you don't like what you put on the window, just do an >Edit >Undo.

Let's create this design using the brush tool. Begin by selecting a nice blue background color from the color picker. Double click on the background color.

This opens the color picker. Choose a rich blue color.

Create a new window to begin your artwork. >File >New

Use the above settings, then press OK.

Now create a new layer to draw the tree.
>Layer >New Layer. Call it tree. Press OK.
If your layers palette is not open, go to >Window > Layers. Now you should have a new layer to draw the tree.

This is a way to keep the drawing organized and enable to easily make changes. If you don't like the tree you drew, simply select the tree layer and click on the trash can at the bottom of the layer palette to delete it and begin again.
Now we are going to draw a tree using the brush tool. Select the brush tool in the tools pallette.
Go to the color picker and pick a couple shades of brown. Then reselect the brush tool and open the brush palette at the top of the screen.

I chose a brush that looked like bark and chose a 58 px diameter but you can make your own choices. Change the settings and add a few branches also.

Create a new layer. Call it grass.

Select two shades of green and the brush tool that looks like grass. Put some grass on your picture. Change shades of green and the diameter of the brush and continue adding grass until you are satisfied with your masterpiece.

Create a new layer. Call it leaves.

Select a couple colors for the leaves. Use the leaves brush tool and put leaves on your tree. Use several colors and diameters. Now you have a beautiful nature scene.

Let's finish this masterpiece with a haiku. A haiku is a 5 syllable, 7 syllable, and 5 syllable poem. Here is an example.
