Teachers - Read this first

This is a lesson for Photoshop and Dreamweaver or a word processor. This is a beginner/intermediate photoshop lesson. Be sure to go through the lesson before teaching it to the class. The lesson will take one to five class periods. I teach high school students in a lab setting and each student works independently.

Before beginning the lesson, accumulate lots of photos and place them in an accessible folder. We have a shared document folder where students can peruse and choose photos. Have students take pictures of the school, of the class, and of individuals. Ask students to bring in photos they might like to use.

Before beginning the lesson, have students find and open about 5 or 6 pictures opened in Photoshop. Have students open this web site along with photoshop and be sure they know how to toggle between the two applications. In addition, make sure they understand how to save their work.

Demonstrate a step or two and then walk around the room to make sure they have completed the steps. Ask them to help each other to get steps to move more quickly. Students need to stay with the steps to avoid confusion and frustration. Make sure the students save their work often.

Grading is based on the quality and completion of work along with consideration of the students' abilities
