Today's Goal:
To learn more about parabolas, their shape, and real life use.
To prepare for our parabolic curve project.
Today's Lesson:
1) In Safari, find images of parabolas.
2) In safari, find an image of someone shooting a basket. Try to show a ball and the path the ball takes.
3) Go to ask.com and find the answer to following questions.
a) What is a parabola?
b) What is the formula for a parabola?
c) When are parabolas used in real life?
d) A basketball player is shooting a foul shot. What is the equation of the curve he shoots?
3) Insert the images and answer the questions in Word.
4) When research is complete, open FLASH and draw a basketball (Insert Symbol) and a basketball court.
