Assignment #1:BOUNCING BALL In flash, create a bouncing ball. Here is an example. Create a ball at the bottom of the stage.
>Insert
>Keyframe

Use the arrow tool to select the entire ball.Be sure to select both the fill and stroke. Select it by placing the arrow outside the circle in the upper left and dragging it past the circle to the lower right.
Move the ball a little bit.
Go back to insert keyframe and move the ball up and down frame by frame.
Advanced tutorial.

Create a garden - 3 flowers in a field of grass. Save it as garden.fla

the flowers are drawn from the polystar tool. Click options in the property window.

Assignment #2: GROWING BALL. In flash, create a ball getting larger. Here is an example.

1) >Insert
>Timeline
>New Symbol

Call it ball
2) Go to Scene 1
Drag the ball onto themiddle of the stage.
Do the following steps as needed.
>Insert
>Timeline
>Keyframe.

Select the free transform tool.
Grab the corner and make the ball slightly larger.
Continue until the ball fills the stage.
Next, open the text box by selecting the A tool.
>Window
>Properties

and choose a color, size and font.
Place the text in the middle of the ball.
Insert several keyframes to increase the time the text remains on the screen.
Open Flash - Color Swatch and Symbols
1) Create a color swatch
2) Draw a star as a symbol
3) Drag the star to the stage and move it.
Call it star.fla . Sample.
Assignment #3: ROTATION WHEEL..In flash, create a wheel. Here is an example.
1) >Insert
>Timeline
>New Symbol

Call it wheel
Using oval tool, create a circle.
Use the line tool to create spokes.
Use the arrow tool and select the wheel.
2) Go to Scene 1
Drag the wheel onto the middle of the stage.
Do the following steps as needed.
>Insert
>Timeline
>Keyframe
.
Select the wheel.
Select the Free Transform Tool.
Rotate the circle a small amout by moving the cursor over a corner until a loop symbol appears. Drag the mouse a little.
Move the circle.
Continue to move and rotate the circle around the stage.
When you get to the top, change the shape using the scale tool.
Assignment #4:Open Dreamweaver.
Save the document in your FLASH folder.
Call it rotation.html.
Insert a 3x1 table.
In row 1, make a title called Rotation.
In row two, Insert rotation.swf
>Insert
>Media
>FLASH
In row three, describe what rotation and means and how your animation is a rotation.

Assignment #5: FLASH: NAME ACROSS SCREEN.In flash, have some words scroll across the screen. Here is an example.
Click on the text tool A and put your name on the stage.
Move your name off to the right of the screen using the selection tool (black arrow).
Now move the words slightly onto the stage.
>Insert
>Timeline
> Keyframe.

Move the words slightly to the right. Continue in this way until the words are off the screen to the left. Alter the speed by choosing
>Window
>Properties

and altering the Frame Rate (fps - frames per second). A lower number makes it slower and higher number makes it faster.

Assignment #6: Draw a Rabbit
Draw a Rabbit
1) Create a Flash Document called rabbit.fla
2 ) Create the shape in the library.
>Insert
>New Symbol

Graphic.
Draw the rabbit. Here is a drawing to follow.

3)Go back to Scene1 when complete.
Click on Scene1 in upper right corner.

Assignment #7: MOTION TWEEN. Open Flash.
Open rabbit.fla from or create your own shape as assignment #5 explains.
Here is an example. Here is another example.
1) Create a simple background as desired.
2) Create a layer for the symbol.
>Insert >Layer.

3) Open the library Window
>Window >Library
.
Click on the symbol. Drag the symbol to the stage. Move the symbol to the beginning of the movement - off the stage to the right is a great starting place.
4) Click on frame 60.
5)>Insert > Keyframe
6) Move the shape to the other side of the stage - off the stage - on the other is side is a great ending place.
7) Click between the frames.
8) >Insert > Create Motion Tween.
9) >Control >Test movie.

Shape Tween.
1) Create two symbols each a different shape.
2) In scene1, drag symbol 1 onto the center of the stage.
3) Select frame 1.
4) In the properties window, click the Tween popup and then click Shape.
5) Select Frame 40.
6) Click
>Insert
>Timeline
>Blank Keyframe
.
7) Drag Symbol 2 from the library onto the center of the stage.
8) >Control
>Test Movie

Distance Project

In flash, have a sun rise and a sailboat sail across the water. Here is an example.
Make four layers - water,sky,sun,and boat making each item on each layer. Have the sun move slowly up the screen using >Insert >Keyframe each time you move the sun up slightly.
Create the boat in the library by using >Insert > New Symbol.

Now we are ready to examine some math concepts.
Insert the movie into Dreamweaver. Create a math problem that applys
to this project. For example: Distance = Rate x Time. If a boat travels 5 miles an hour for four hours, how many miles does it travel?
